New Websites and Social Media for Highlands Health System
Highlands Health System approached Media Makers with the task of creating a network of websites and social media to help the organization better connect with the local community. The entities that needed websites included Highlands Health System, Highlands Regional Medical Center, Highlands Center for Autism, Highlands Foundation, Highlands Home Health and Highlands Clinics. The main website of focus was hrmc.org. The hospital website includes everything from patient ecards to an advanced physician directory. Highlands Regional Medical Center is a not-for profit, community owned and operated healthcare facility with an active medical staff of more than 100 physicians. Located in Prestonsburg, KY, Highlands Regional Medical Center features a NEW 24-hour emergency care facility, same-day surgery and outpatient care, advanced pulmonary care, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, broad-based diagnostic services including on-site CT and MRI, cardiac services, pediatric care, senior wellness programs and an on-site clinical laboratory. Highlands Regional launched a network of sites around their main hospital website. The social media included Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and LinkedIN. The local community can now keep up-to-date with news, community events, job postings, new physician hires, etc. through social media.
